Expiring/Closeout Domain Names

Has anyone ever made good money from sell on or parking revenue from getting expiring domains or closeouts on sites like Godaddy?
Is it worthwhile taking note of traffic and earning potential as stated on the bidding page?
Would love to hear any success stories!

Don't trust godaddy stats in any way. Do your own research. Their stats are over-inflated/complete rubbish. I paid $700 for a name with over 2500 visitors per month. When I got it, it had 2 visitors in the first month and continued at this level. Godaddy didn't want to know.

Other than that, you can make money buying expired names and reselling, but here are a lot of people already doing it and the chance of you having any real success now is very limited.
