Geo domains, what population?

Hi
I was wondering what kind of population a town/city has to have to be able to make a living from its geo domain name? just thinking about city.com or town.com or maybe .co.uk/.de type names.

Obviously if you own newyork.com, you arn't going to be working in factory ever again, but what about domain name owners with small geo city/town names. what is the minimun population needed. Their of course will be two types of town also, tourist towns and normal every day places.
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/domain-newbies/594813-geo-domains-what-population.html

Would a non tourist town of 100,000 be able to make a website generate say $500 a week? or would owning 5 geo towns of 100,000 people make $100 each etc? Would love to know peoples views on this and especially from geo domain owners who make a living from them.

thanks richie

I don't know much about geo domains, so maybe others have more information, but I don't think you can go just by population alone. A small tourist town may have a small "population" but get hundreds of thousands of visitors a year, and many people searching for information about it.

Learn what the population is, but then use the Google Keyword Tool to see how many people are searching for the name. Also check what the bids are for the name as well and that will give you a better idea how good the domain is.
