Google search vs Google adwords

I apologize in advance if this question has already been asked.

I was looking into hand registering a three-word dot com that begins with the word repairs. Typing it into Google (within quotes) it came back with more than 400,000 searches. But typing it into Google Adwords it came back with Not Enough Data and an average CPC of only $.05.

I don't understand how the numbers could be so different, and if they mean this is a good domain or not. TIA

try typing in 'keywords' into a google search, and it shouuld bring up the google keyword tool. Use this to get the bottom line on keywords and domains. It gives you both local and global results. Hope this helps

if i understand your predicament correctly, .... typing the phrase into google, gives you the number of search result pages, NOT Searches, you can have a lot of search pages but little search volume

google adwords gives you an estimate of searches performed, that is the difference
