silk purse from a sows ear

I am sure you have heard this before. But I think it has relevance to domaining, let me explain.

Ive been watching the recent sales from the last month and its led me to this conclusion. That even if you have a "sows ear" domain, junk, rubbish you can turn it over into a healthy profit to an end user. This has got me thinking.
Where are most of us going wrong? I am sure everyone here has great domains and also alot of sows ears so how do some of the guys here "do it"?How do they turn a horrible name into a sale?
Well sitting on them wont sell you many thats for sure.So is being "pro-active",doing the leg work, spending 6 hours a day soucing companies on the internet the way to do it?Or is searching local business through yellow pages or the phone book the way?
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/domain-newbies/589721-silk-purse-from-a-sows-ear.html

How do you do it?

Do you telephone them directly?

What is your secret behind the success? Does telephone pitches work better than email? How do you find the end user in a different country if you want to telephone them?

I am sure lots of people here would like to know these answers,me included.Sharing the success stories and sales techniques can only make all of us richer and the domain market stronger.Being more profesional and more astute will benifit all of us.We could really make something great here if we all sing from the same notes and play the same way.As a community my success will benifit your success will benifit everyone.

So if you have proven success and a business tecnique that works could you share it here? Anything or everything from draft email,to phone calls to how you search those distant foreign countries.Lets work as a community

Thanx for that tip. However as much as I would like to think end users will find me,I would rather be pro-active rather than just sitting on them. There are a couple of guys here who look to be doing extremely well, they can't all be from being contacted by the end user.

The lower end of the domaining industry is supported by the revolving door of noobs. You take them away and all of the ill advised hand registrations just expire.
