Transfer Request via GoDaddy

I have recently sold a domain here and I am trying to transfer a domain from namecheap to my godaddy account so I can push it over to the buyer.

Yesterday I requested the transfer at Godaddy. Today I havent received any verification emails. My domains status is "Pending Unlock or Hold Release". Does anyone know what that means?

Should I have gotten verification emails by now? I would like to get thjis done ASAP so my reputation isnt ruined.

Thanks.

Questions:

1. Is your domain name currently locked?
2. Is it still paid?

Something you should know: if you successfully transfer your domain name to
Go Daddy in your account, you might not be able to push it to your buyer's
account due to Go Daddy's strict 60-day rule policies, although I'm not sure
if it'll apply there. But it might since it's, technically, a "new" registration for
Go Daddy, only it got transferred there instead of going thru the registration
process.

If you can transfer it instead to your buyer's Go Daddy account, so much the
better.

Well it has been registered for 60 days I believe. I registered it on 04 Sep 2004. What does locked mean? I don't know why the name is locked.

Instead of transferring it from NameCheap to GoDaddy, why not just push it to the buyer's NameCheap account? If they are requesting to have it transferred over to GoDaddy instead then I'd just push it to their NC account and let them do the transfer over to GoDaddy if that's the registrar they prefer.

A locked domain is for your own protection as it can't be transferred to another account or to a different registrar when the domain is locked which prevents unauthorized attempts to transfer a domain.

A transfer from another registrar to GoDaddy usually takes around 5-7 days for the complete process from start to finish. It's usually been around 5 days in every transfer I'd did to GoDaddy. The quickest and easiest way to push the domain to the buyer would just be to push it to their NameCheap account. If they don't have one, they can register for one and it's free of charge.

Best of luck to you Beau and hopefully you'll get it resolved soon.
