help: step by step copyright and TM search


Can someone give me step by step with example how to search if domain have copyright or trademark issues.

I know http://www.uspto.gov, but do i need to manually search website, or do a search, what to put in search, how to read search?

Please help i found many good domains and cant buy them because im nto sure if they are legal.

For TM search: Go uspto.gov, click on "Trademarks" in the menu on the left and then click on 3 "Search TM database (TESS)". From there you shouldnt have to much trouble, choose the search type, I always use "New User Form Search (Basic)" and then enter search term and see what comes up.

Do you maybe know whats deal with famous names, like famous singers? Are names trademarks?

Names themself are not a TM normally, however famous people generally have a special protection especially against people using their name in bad faith or for profit.

It's all about how you're going to use the domain. Just as Brad said, is the registration going to be used in "bad faith"?

newmazda.com
oldtoyota.com
toyotacoupon.com

Are this kind of domains trademark or copyright, m i allowed to sue them to park or write about that cars?
