![]() | Sedo Domain Appraisals this is my second post here.????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/domain-newbies/56015-sedo-domain-appraisals.html I got an appraisal on a domain and I think I really wasted my $39 While some points the appraiser made were pretty good, he didn't take into account other things like PR or incoming links, and the recent sales used were incomplete, IMO. I know there were other sales for much more money, for names in the same industry. Or maybe I just didn't like the bottom line Any opinions on Sedo appraisals? chara |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Unless you absolutely must have a certified appraisal, my opinion is they are a waste of money. In the end, a domain will find it's own market.. you can get plenty of free appraisals on the Net as a guide in the meantime.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Sedo I have purchased several SEDO appraisals while in the process of making certified offers for domains. I have found their domain appraisals to be detailed, professional and exceptionally well done. I have never been disappointed with an appraisal through SEDO, although, I certainly would understand disappointment with the bottom line. I was always cheering for a low value appraisal so I could acquire my targetted domain, but sometimes they came back higher than I had anticipated. Even so, the price was always strongly supported and researched by SEDO. Just my two cents.

![]() ![]() | I agree, appraisals should be done for a few reasons. Your own personal gradification for whatever reason and the more useful one is for those who wish to purchase a domain and want an appraisal. The fact is a domain name is only worth what the person with the highest offer is willing to pay other than that an appraisal just inflates the value and suckers some people in which is not good business practice. Waste of time and money IMO

![]() | Chara, I also purchased appraisal from SEDO before, and I have to agree with you that was a waste of money. They compared my domain to other domain sales which were completely unrelated. They just compared my domain (2 word domain) to other domains just because they had one same word. However these other domains were related to completely different industries and also my 2 word domain has a very important meaning in the telecommunications industry, unlike the other domains they compared it to which had poor relevance to any industries. ????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=56015 I can’t see how it is relevant to compare such a name just because it contains one same word in it as another. Just to give you an example of how bad their comparison was, it was the equivalent of comparing the domain touchdown.com to touchsky.com!!!! They appraised my domain at £5500, but I have had many offers to buy the name over £25,000 and I haven’t even advertised it for sale. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | The user HabboRadio.us that joined yesterday as well also seems to be the same user as them 3 aliases. Since the domain is similar to the signature of Question? and the domains he's got listed in there.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Found the sedo appraisal to be a waste of money. I mean NO ONE on ebay bidded more then $71 for IOIU.com and the winner didnt even pay , so it looks like I'll have to relist it. Sedo then says my domain is worth $1,650. Im like... WTF? |

![]() ![]() | Appraisals in general... I am not sure they are all they are cracked up to be. I like to get a "feel" for what a domain might generally be worth through the appraisal forum here, but paying for appraisals is a waste of $ IMHO... Here is a good example, I just had a domain appraised by a "professional". I was told that my domain was worth $5,000.00 I then offered to sell the domain to them for $2,500.00. A pretty good deal, as far as I am concerned seeing as the domain is worth $5,000.00. Would you not jump at the opportunity to buy a domain for half of what it is worth? Well, needless to say they didn't, so that would tell me that their appraisal is really worthless... |

![]() ![]() ![]() | This of the appraisal it seem to me a very controversial question. What if I ask say 1000 for a D.N and the buyer ask for an appraisal and for example , Sedo they say 500? How do you would proceed in such case?
