![]() | Another trademark question I searched and cannot find any trademarks for XBOX Evolution. 1. Can I own a domain with the word "xbox" in it. 2. If XBOX Evolution becomes a trademark in the future, is my site in danger? |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | 1) You can own a domain with "xbox" in it, such as "foxbox.com". 2) If you use a domain name that contains a trademark that somene else owns, they may be able to take if from you if they want to. They can also take things that may infringe upon their trademark. So any domain with xbox could be at risk, but something like foxbox.com would be hard to prove infringement unless you had xbox stuff on the site. ????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/domain-newbies/521613-another-trademark-question.html I used to have a lot of domains with the word ebay in them. Ebay contact me and told me they didn't want me to use them, so I got rid of them. But if you want to get a domain like that, you should, but keep in mind that they may take it from you, or try, at some point in the future. If you do get it, I would post a disclaminer that you are not xbox or microsoft and that may help a little. :-)

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | While MS never sent me anything, I did get mail from Sedo that they deleted a name I had with xbox in it because of the possible trademark problems. I bought it when I didn't know better. I've since let it drop. It's best to stay away from trademarks if you can. |
