Best place for domains

Can someone recommend me the cheapest most hassel free place? I'm still in search of a good one. So far 1and1 isn't good.

godaddy.com is known for cheap prices. I use enom more, but that's because I have a low-cost account with them. You can also try sipence.com - they look to be enom in disguise, but with dirt cheap prices.

Namecheap.com are my fave. I also use enom, godaddy, registerfly and some others but namecheap.com for me is the best.

I get the wholesale rates hosting super center, strong backing from the #1 Registrar of the year. You can add private domains by proxy to stay anonymous and also prevent spams. The Whois is fully manage by you and the updates takes about 12 hours on the average.

I'm sick of this. I've looked and looked. So far I found these registars:
Namecheap: 8.88
1and1.com: 5.95 -but take 4ever for domain to get into whois database
domainsarefree.com: 3.99 ! Thats the best so far
myvaluehost.com: 4


Should I go with domainsarefree.com ?

If you equate cheapest with "best", then I don't know of anyone who can be better. But there are other considerations like customer support, functionality, transfer policy, and hidden costs. Can anyone here provide feedback about domainsarefree? The last thread about them that could find was:

Yeah, cheapest isn't always best....some of the really cheap ones will charge you for dns changes, or jack up the price when it comes to renewal....

Domainsarefree is affiliated with Globat.. I tried to register a domain at the advertised $3.99 and found the option to actually choose the $3.99 price was unavailable... it was greyed out and couldn't be checked. Plus they have a limit of one domain per week at that price, assuming you can even register one.
