I want to set up a secure email account and have been looking at godaddy's email service since I have a domain there. I'm assuming that this is a domain that you don't sell and keep purely for email/personal use? ISP email is not an option as my internet account is not in my name, and I tend to change ISPs from year to year. Can anyone comment on their experience with godaddy email? Also, do you keep separate accounts for your whois and registrar to contact you?

There is really no such thing as a "secure email acount." Geeks and the government can get in.

fine, a reasonably secure one? or one that's safer than an easily hackable one like gmail/yahoo/hotmail. That's what I was referring to, I guess.

also, does godaddy allow separate email accounts within a domain - that is, can I have supportatmydomain.com as well as questionatmydomain.com for instance? Is this is a paid service with godaddy or are there any others that offer this kind of service?

OK - I use GoDaddy email and also Zimbra.com. If you have a domain registered with GoDaddy, you can set up an email account. We should all try to change the password every so often. We all seem to forget.

Our firm uses GoDaddy for our company email accounts and for their personal accounts, some of our people use Yahoo, Gmail, Hotmail or another email service. The GoDaddy email accounts have far fewer problems than the others. Hotmail does see to have fewer issues than Yahoo or Gmail, I'm told.

does anybody know if name.com offers a free email account? just cuz I don't want to buy a domain at godaddy again for the same price if I can get a slightly cheaper one at name.com especially since I won't be selling the domain and will just be keeping it as a personal domain for email purposes. Thanks!

I hadn't seen your second question. Name.com does have email but it is provided by gmail, I believe.

They use something called Googke Application and its free

So I set up google apps and everything, and my mail is configured to go there (the domain's registered at godaddy). I set it up so that if I type in mail.mydomain.com I can check my mail through google, but if type in my domain name into the webbrowser (domain.com), it goes to this godaddy parking page ... am I doing something wrong - shouldn't it be going to a google page instead...or if I want a professional looking starting page, should I set it up through apps??
