I think that professionals at serious forums like NamePros are a great place to get a free appraisal.

I've tried Swift Appraisal; I don't think their script's been updated since the dot-com boom. They valued GamingGallery.com at $6,500 - $9,500.

Circa 1999, I agree that is the likely scenario, IMHO.
Those were some good times, though!
Have a great domain day.

Yes, the valuation model that mudfence used in his script is one of the best I have seen so far. It isn't perfect but is a good start.

Be realistic, ask nicely for appraisels here at NP, use mudfence's script, and again, be realistic.

Actually , it's Namepros "Super Moderator" Namecaster ... and the "DNA Valuation Model" is an excellent place to start, IMHO.

Link: http://www.namepros.com/dna/

Then, you "fine-tune" that by seeking opinions and Appraisals here in the Namepros "Appraisal's Forum" where member's share their varying experiences, observations, and/or first-hand knowledge of domain name buying/selling to get varying perspectives, thoughts on what the domains could be worth in today's Wholesale or End user markets. The ultimate "value", of course, will be what a suitor is willing to pay you in the end for the domain name ... but this initial combination can give you some guidelines and a perceived "range" from which to negotiate further. Information is power, and knowing your potential upside and even possible limitations when complemented with your own research will help you to decide your best course of action for reselling, as I see it.
Good Luck with you domain names.

Oops! I guess I have it all mixed up. I thought mudfence . . . I must be thinking of something else.

Anyway, my belated apologies to the wonderfull Mr. Namecaster.

BTW, should the formula be updated?

Mudfence is NameCaster. I don't know if he has plans to update the default formula. I still believe it's one of the more accurate auto-appraisal systems around right now, though we might make some adjustments to the formula over time as market conditions change.
