| NamePros Member | Do you fall in love with your own domains? Hi, It takes so much effort and every now and then, you come across names which you know you can never afford. Then along came an affordable name and you got it and will never let go. Does that describe you? I got two names which i think i will keep for a long long time. It is not possible to get it in the other domains and the people who bought it had kept it for donkey years without developing it. My domains are joyfully.asia and illustrious.asia Just to share |

| NamePros Regular | I think falling in love with domains is one of the biggest problems in the industry. You have to treat domaining like a business or you can easily lose a lot of money. Most of the names I find that appeal to me aren't sellable or worth anything outside of my own interest in them. lol |

| www.LLLL.com Forum Moderator | I've done that a few times too -- emotions and business just don't mix but it's ever so hard to not let emotions influence buying behavior. To answer the O.P., yes, I've fallen in love with a few of my names and also passed on offers I should have taken because I was attached too much to some of my names. Quote:

| www.DataCube.com | Yes, I have fallen in love with domains in the past, but still with the right offer I would sell. Quote:

| DNMedia.com | I would sell my first name in the .com if I owned it. Like Reece said, emotion and business don't mix. However, if you're just doing this as a hobby, love away

| mellowmasher.com Forum Moderator | I used to and like Reece said above, I have turned down offers I should have taken because my heart ruled not my head... My head rules now and I sell much more

| NameBio.com Founder Team Leader | Honestly, Yes. There are several domain names that hold "special" value to me. It may seem silly, and I agree with Reece, often times personal feelings conflict with business sense. However, I seem to manage just fine =)

| Senior Member | Giving Reece the trifecta ... I have agree almost word for word. You can easily be blinded by the emotion even when consciously aware of the phenomenon. I'm completely guilty of the habit. I tend to value my names a bit high because of it. But I tend to hold out for good prices. I also notice this tends to happen, with me, with "brandables" rather than generics. ie: "Grafrica" with a few low $$$ offers I hold out for a MUCH higher sale. This is a name I fell in love with. I think it has something to do with ones vision of the names potential. And the hopes of getting around to or find funds to develop it. So the name gets shelved, perhaps subconsciously, via a high asking price. |

| NamePros Regular | Not so much my domains, but there were a few auctions where I really liked the domain... but had I won I feel I would have over payed. Was very tempted at times though.
