dbtbandit67 is an unknown quantity at this point
domain name/traffic generation

I am looking to start an informative website on alternative energy in hopes of making some money off ad-clicks.

How important is the actual domain name in respect to the traffic it generates? GoDaddy offers products that help generate traffic, and I was thinking that with these services, maybe a quality name isn't worth the price

the actual domain is usually not that important/effective in generating traffic through type-ins. the bulk of traffic to any given website is from advertising, links, search engines, etc. it is important, however, to get a domain that is memorable and related to what the website is about to help with getting a good reputation and repeat traffic.

the keywords in the domain will play a vital role in seo promotion but since you're doing it via gd traffic then they can advise you of the keywords you need to use.

are you using traffic blazer or traffic facts?

I also agree that while the domain name can help with SEO, it's not a big factor. The SEO and linking will be the main thing that determines how your site does, unless you are going to "purchase" traffic.

Before you sign up for ANY program that offers to send traffic to your site, try to find someone that has used it to see what they think. Most programs that send traffic to your site take your money and give you little to nothing in return.

The reason is that most of these systems send people that are not expecting to see your site. So they may have no interest in it and unless your site looks really good or you have a great offer they will look and then leave. If you are lucky, they will click on an ad and leave, but if they are not interested in what your site offers, the ads will be offering much the same thing and they still will not be interested.

Maybe someone else has a different experience...?

yeah the practicality here is if you intend to buy traffic why worry about the actual domain name since it will come to you as long as you keep on the payment for the traffic. what you need to worry is how you can "stick" the purchased visitors to your site, is it a forum? or is there something worthwhile :dollar: to come back to it from now and then? does it offer tools? does it offer resources not published elsewhere?

to maximixe your traffic order, i guess you need to think of ideas for the visitors to return to your site, as often as you/they want.
