I will use SEDO for example since that is the most popular.
1.) You own a domain
2.) You change the nameservers to SEDO (ns1.sedoparking.com/ns2.sedoparking.com) on your Registrar
3.) You add the domain to your account on Sedo.
4.) Optimize the page on sedo by picking keyword / templates.
The basically when someone visits the page they see a parking page with a bunch of ads on it.
Upside -
- Easy to do.
- Convenient if you own a lot of domains with no development plans.
Downside -
- SEDO takes a decent cut. The payouts are not great.
- Also, if you buy a domain with traffic it will slowly go away. No one is going to revisit a parked page.
"2.) You change the nameservers to SEDO (ns1.sedoparking.com/ns2.sedoparking.com) on your Registrar"
How do you do this with namedrive? I'm trying to park my first site on namedrive, and can't figure out how to tell godaddy (where the domain is) to go to the namedrive site.
(I tried signing up to sedo but it was giving some weird error about my email, so I went for namedrive instead.)
You change the nameservers on the Registar itself.
If is registered on GoDaddy -
1.) Click on the Domain Name
2.) Click on the "Nameservers" icon at the top.
3.) Update the nameservers to what NameDrive told you to use.
4.) Click Ok.
