TM Infringement?


Im wanting to register a site.

Theres a company, which we will call Sports Inc. Would I be in the wrong to register sportsincforums.com ? If not, I want to - Its for a game that ALOT of people play, and Id like to get the name+forums.com for like a market place for them. Please let me know

I was under the assumption that if the domain name (if searched under uspto.gov) yielded an inc; a trademark infringement is probable if you use it in the same context. Meaning if you used a word or words that lend itself to representing the name of the company in anyway, shape or form would be considered a direct infringement on rights.

IP (Intellectual Property) is tough to understand and favors the company in most cases. My rule of thumb on this is to check uspto.gov and if there is anything that comes remotely close; i'd be very careful. You don't need the headache. Just my 2 cents.....
