Two Questions:
1.When looking how may searchresults words produce,what is the minimum you are looking for for 1 word(e.g "video") 2 word-combinations(e.g. video content" and 3 wordcombinations ( eg " video content monetization") apart from other factors like wordtrackerresults ,future perspectives and such? Is 50000/100000 results for a threewordcombination good enough to register a domainname?
What about registering a .net/.org extension minimum 250000/500000 results
2.What about google alerts? Should you take into consideration how many google alerts certain words produce as this might tell you more about trends then the static/results from"the past"-number of google search results or will it confuse you as certain hypes produce big amount of alerts and disappear again?

If anyone has a link to similar questions would a good as well as I assume it has been discussed before.

Not sure if there's another thread.

IMO for a quoted (eg. "free car quote" versus unquoted, free car quote) 50,000 results is very good. But that's just me. Of course you want as many as possible but anything in the tens of thousands is probably a solid keyword combo. As for Google alerts I don't know. I've never used them so I don't really know a number to base off of. Those are my thoughts however.

google results has 2 sides. on one hand more " " results - better should be domain. on another hand unless you sure you can properly develop domain, it can get lost somewhere between that 500,000 results. And who is searching google for more than 3-4 pages per quote? So i would say that this is good for keywords that represents some small niche.

Using Google alerts is a really good idea to get an idea of what is being published that used the exact keyword phrase ("mykeywordphrase").

But I still don't understand the logic of registering a domain just because the search results numbers are large. People seem to think that many search results translates into people typing in a domain name, that it will somehow equal traffic, or getting a higher price for the domain. But I don't get it.

I think people would be better off using the Google Traffic Estimator to find out want the "traffic potential" is rather than the search results are. This doesn't mean your domain is going to get that much, or any traffic, but it does give you an idea of what the traffic MIGHT be. That way you can check it and register domains with keyword prhases that people actually use, rather than what webmaster put on web sites.

Just because there are millions of results doesn't mean that millions of people are typing in the domain name. If I am off on this I would love to hear any explanations.
