| Senior Member | It all depends on the keywords and extension of both a new and expired name. There are still a lot of good names unregistered on some extensions. Just because a name is expiring doesn't mean its good necessarily.

| Senior Member | 1. expired domains (if they are not blacklisted) most likely will already have some traffic 2. expired domains most likely will be already listed by search engines 3. expired domains (if they was developed by previous owner) already have a content that makes visitors to come back for it. All of this 1,2,3 are about an expired domain that have been actively used by someone else, and now he/they just have no needs for it. This kind of domain i would prefer for sure vs newly registered one.

| Senior Member | First off .... Welcome to NPs. Best wishes with all your ventures. I agree, to some extent, on the older name being more desirable. That said we always see new products, services, trends, news etc that open a door on new names. An example might be a name I hold that is waiting for the technology to support it. Older names would not work because the technology was not common a few years back. So in this niche the newer name will work much better than an older name (imho). Development is the trump. Building value is a win win win for the name, the holder and the future buyer. A good clean history on a name is a very good thing. A bad or undesirable history is very bad..... If a name has a good developed history it is better or at least holds an advantage to a "fresh" name. I'm mixed on the effect, in value or desirability, of an older name that was simply parked for a few years. Good luck namenut |

| The MINISITE King | Welcome But always remember ,maybe name is expiring because it was crap Regging a lousy name you picked out is a honest mistake. Re-regging an expiring Lousy name is plain silly
