I would venture to say that you could probably find the same information on the internet that you would find in a "handbook" to be real honest. But if you prefer books thats fine too.

I've not bought any domaining books before, but here's my comment.

All the information you will find in the book, can be found in this forum. And I believe this forum has more information than the book. However, the information in this forum is scattered here and there and it takes some time to find, study and digest the information. A book should present these information in a structured way, in a logical flow for easy understanding.

Myself prefer to learn from this forum. I'd save the money to renew some domains.

I tend to agree that you can get more information from sites like this then you get from a domaining handbook.

But this said I think you will get the basics much faster from a good domain book than rooting around forums. Of course you should by no means stop reading forums like this if you buy a book, but the combination of books and forums will probably get you to a working level much faster and point out some obvious beginner faults that might be hard to avoid otherwise.

I would recommend you to take a look at Domaingraduate.com Where Sean Stafford shares is secrets. Used it myself with good success.
