Posting Domains -Domains Wanted

I recenlty joined Namepros and posted a few domains for sale in different forums IE, Domains with Traffic, Auctions, Make Offers and have also sent a few PM's to the wanted ads.

Now, within a couple of weeks of posting, in doing my regular SE check to review and verify placement and such, I've found links sponsored and non sponsored at the Very Top of the results page with my domain name at the top, and another domain name and description below as follows.

Mydomainname.com
Otherdomainname.com - Description

Anyway, it got me thinking! It appears that some people are information gathering about domains so that they can use high traffic/revenue domains to build links in order to steal traffic?
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/domain-newbies/469848-posting-domains-domains-wanted.html

So is that why so many Wanted Ads are posted requesting domains with high traffic, earing good revenue and such??? Especially from buyers who have no trader rating?

Has this happened to anyone? Perhaps you should check your domains!

Anyway, I would like to hear others opinions and views on this subject and whether or not it's happened to you.

Thanks

I think you may be seeing paid ads that list your domain?

If so what is happening that the advertiser is using code in their ads that takes what you are searching for and inserts it into their ads. They don't know what you are using, it's an automated process. Something in your domain name must be triggering the ads.

For example, if you are searching for Mydomainname.com they might be targeting the keyword "domainname" and that is why you are seeing the ads with your domain. You can test it by searching for something like "XXdomainname.com" and see if you see the same ads with the new domain name...

The domains that I've posted end up in Google & Yahoo search like this

Otherdomain.com - Ad Description for other domain

Or

Otherdomain.com - Ad Description for other domain

I think domainers should check their domians to see if they find any of them in the same manner.

Also, do you think that this would take traffic from a domain???

Thanks!

When you search, what exactly are you typing in, WWW.mydomain.com?

Can you give us an example that we can try to see what you are seeing?

Thanks!
