What is RPM?

I am new to this and I just opened a SEDO account. I am wondering what RPM means on the parked websites? Is that how much you are making a month?

RPM means Revenue per Mil

It basically is a stat that guesstimates how much your revenue would be if you had 1,000 visitors.
