![]() | Fake or False auctions, what gives? New to domains but I checked out Sedo (nothing against them, admin can remove that name if needed) the other night on the suggestion of a few other people but at least 5 of the domains I looked at on auction weren't registered. How can a domain be auctioned by someone who doesn't own it? Or am I missing something? I checked 3 different places for registration and all 3 said the domains were avaliable. I almost registered the domains just because they were on auction but don't know enough about domains yet to get into some domain mess. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Sedo only checks whois (registration records) when they first enter the domain into their account (done by Sedo system, not humans) - and this is not a perfect system either . They never check it afterwords. Perhaps the domains expired and were deleted from the registry without anyone knowing.Still available? Try https://nameservice.net/whois/registry.php - If domain comes back with "Not Found", "Available", "No Match", or the like, without owner details - go get busy registering them ![]() ????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/domain-newbies/451870-fake-or-false-auctions-what-gives.html Even if this is the case, and you do register them, you still have to go through the proccess of showing (easy to do...contact them and they can do a whois search on the domain and see your email as that of the owner) Sedo that you own the domains, so they will move them to your account. |
