I am really REALLY new and trying to understand how this all works. Doing research on how money is made via domain names (thanks Yofie.com and DomainerIncome for the tips).

I have not read much on how people feel about the potential for ICANN to eliminate the AGP or add a new fee. I know this is bad for tasters but how will it affect everyone else? How do they know who is a "taster" vs. someone who does this recreationally?

Thanks!

A taster spits out a domain after a few days rather than keeping it. I believe that all that is planned is to stop the ability to have the fee refunded.

I think what I heard is that they want to only refund most of the money. Rather than having tasting cost nothing it would cost them about $0.25 that they would not get refunded.

I think it's a step in the right direction, but I suspect big tasters are going to be able to afford it and it won't make much difference except with small players that aren't making much.
