The person ending up with the domain purchases a request for transfer at their preferred registrar. The person selling the domain gives the authorization code to the buyer and he/she enters it at their registrar.

A transfer by definition is a transfer out from one to another.

Yes. All transfers cost about one year renewal because the one year is added to the registration.

Well, until danzl defines his situation then it could go either way right ? He stated "tranfer DOMAIN OWNERSHIP"...if it stays at the same registrar then no there would be no fees.
