![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Sedo.. Confused about selling. I've received an offer for one of my parked domains through Sedo. The offer seems fair, but I think I'd still like to move it to auction for the excitement of it. The thing that confuses me though is the entire payment/transfer process. I mean, once someone wins the auction, how do they send me the funds? Where do the funds go? Into my little Sedo balance? Do I have a choice of how they pay me? How do I transfer the domain? When do I transfer the domain? Before I start this auction I really want to have atleast some idea of what to expect. Maybe a brief step-by-step guide to selling a domain on Sedo. ????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/domain-newbies/431008-sedo-confused-about-selling.html I've taken a look on Sedo's site but it all seems very vague.. Thanks |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Buyer will pay to Sedo and you will receive money from Sedo. You can set up your payment options under "payment details" at your Sedo account. If Sedo will receive money, their transfer agent must send you instructions. You will push domain to Sedo account. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I already have a smallish amount of funds on my Sedo account from parking revenue. Will the money that the buyer sends be added to this? (Meaning I'll be able to happily leave it there until I want to transfer it to my bank/paypal?). How would I transfer the domain to Sedo? |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Wait.. Help. There's a problem.. The auction has now ended and I have received confirmation that the buyer has sent the payment to Sedo. Sedo has now sent me an email asking me to do three things: 1. Unlock the domain. - Done 2. Change the administrative email address to Sedo's email address. - Problem. The domain is at Whiz.in and it seems that when you change any of the registrant/administrative information it applies the change to ALL of your domains. -- Does anyone who is familiar with Whiz.in know how to change details for just ONE domain? 3. Finally it asks, "When all of these preparations have been completed, please send a confirmation email along with the authorization (EPP) code and we will instruct the buyer to initiate a transfer request from his/her registrar." - To what email address do I send this "confirmation" email? The same address that I received this email from? Does there need to be any other information or just the authorization code? ????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=431008 Thanks |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Just click on your domain name or link "Domain Name - Click to Manage" and then "Modify Contact Details". That way you should be able to change contacts for this domain. Reply to Sedo email that domain is unlocked and contacts changed + give them EPP code. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I hate their controls, horror. Try that way: Domains - Domain Registration - Contact Management - Add. Add new contacts, go back to domain and choose appropriate from drop-down menu.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Ok thanks john, sounds like a good idea. ????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=431008 - I have now successfully added a new contact with Sedo's email address, but now when I click on "Change registrant details" for the domain, Whiz.in gives me this error:[r2] Error Message: 'contactvector' is an unknown bean property of 'com.logicboxes.anacreon.beans.formbeans.ModDomFor mBean' ...I'm considering deleting this extra contact I've just made, (which appears to be the cause of this error), and then have the email change applied to all of my domains at Whiz.. Then once they've taken the domain, change all the email addresses back. Would this be a huge mistake? |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I didn't seem to get a response from Whiz, so instead I tried a different browser and that seemed to stop the error from occuring. With the administrative email successfully changed I then sent the confirmation email to Sedo as per instructed. Shortly after that, I received an email from Sedo saying that the buyer would like the domain pushing to their Whiz.in account. Inside this email were the buyer's whiz.in details. I pushed the domain to the buyer's Whiz.in account with the details provided. When I check whois.sc I now see that the whois has changed, so I know the transfer has completed and was successful. Since pushing the domain I haven't heard a thing. No emails and no payment to my PayPal account yet. When I go to Sedo.com > "My Sedo" > "View Transactions" it says " Buyer found. Transaction in progress... 2008-02-18". Is it normal for the funds to take so long? Or maybe I've made some huge mistake somewhere along the line.. ????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=431008 Sorry for having not updated this sooner. EDIT- I have just read this on Sedo: How long will the transfer (transaction) take? On average from an agreement being reached, to the seller being paid we estimate around 15 to 25 business days, for top level TLDs. Many ccTLDs take longer than this due to the different rules involved in their transfer. So it looks like this wait is normal

????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=431008 EX: "The payment has been released and the transfer is now complete." , "This transfer has been successfully completed!" or something else..

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Have you asked keith, Sedo's rep here? I think he is a very busy man .http://www.namepros.com/parking-and-...ght=keith+sedo One of the best things about Sedo is this auction facility. In my opinion, one of the worst things is the post agreement support. |

Hm, good question. I hadn't actually looked at this before. It reads: Transaction History: 02/17/08 Agreement reached 02/17/08 We have invoiced the buyer for the sale of your domain. As soon as the payment reaches our escrow account we will inform you and begin the technical transfer. 02/18/08 We have received full payment for this domain. Please await further instructions from your transfer agent. It is often the case that we have to wait for certain details from the buyer so please be patient during this period. 02/25/08 The buyer has started transfer request. Please confirm the next transfer request from , or contact us to verify the request to be confirmed. So does this mean that they're actually waiting for me to email them? They want me to email to confirm that I've now pushed the domain to the buyer? | ||||

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | It means, Sedo waiting the domain transfer to be processed so they can release your payment. Your domain should be unlocked and Sedo should have the Auth-code (EPP code) to pass it to the buyer so he can transfer the domain. If you still facing problems unlocking your domain, email your Sedo rep and tell him/her that you can't transfer the domain and you need to push it to their account. Keep me updated.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | As far as I'm aware, the transfer(PUSH) has been completed. I unlocked the domain, changed the administrative email of the domain, and sent the "confirmation email" to Sedo weeks ago. Shortly after sending this confirmation emai to Sedo, I received an email from Sedo saying that the buyer would like the domain PUSHING to their Whiz.in account. Inside this email were the buyer's whiz.in details with which to initiate the push. The email read:
I know that the domain was successfully pushed from my account to their account because the whois information has now been entirely changed. I even notice that the domain has a little webpage on it. Since pushing the domain, (as instructed in the email above), I haven't heard anything since. Anyway, I'm done with this now. Too much hassle. The domain wasn't expensive, so if I don't receive the payment then it's no big deal. I suppose I must have made a mistake somewhere along the line. I just wish I knew what that mistake was so that I'd know not to do it next time.
