| NamePros Regular | IMHO, these tools are subjective and should not be relied upon when buying or selling domains. Case in point, the other day, ireport was sold for $750,000. estibot appraised it at $99!. If you find the right end user, your domain would be much more valuable than these appraisal tools!. Oh yes, there used to be leapfish.com but that is now being forwarded to some financial company!. |

Estibot is not intended to give values to domains that are worth hundreds of thousands. If you own such a domain, you won't need estibot. It is intended to help figure out a potential value for the lower-end domains. This is also stated clearly on the website. At any rate- of course, individual appraisals can be way off (automated or human), especially with brandable names such as this one, that's for sure. Skilled humans are good at appraising brandability and doing market research. I wonder what mosilager would have appraised this at? However, posting just one "case in point" hardly constitutes a solid review, especially when estibot is more often than not in the right ballpark. Here's a fresh example of the predictive value of estibot appraisals (look, more than one case, much better review): http://www.namepros.com/2497131-post252.html Summa summarum: Don't trust ANY appraisals in your business decisions. You can use EstiBot.com to your advantage, if you read the user's guide, about, and metrics section carefully. The appraisal is a quick-look summary of the estimated ballpark market value based on a technical analysis. It can be totally wrong, it is often in the right ballpark, and sometimes on the button. On an average in large statistical testing, it's very good. The appraisal is a starting point, not an end point. Always interpret the appraisal in light of what you know about the market (in the case of iReport.com, you would have known that CNN uses the term in their citizen journalism feature), and look at the keyword data. Then make your own appraisal, and ask experienced domainers for their opinion. Be critical. This is all explained on estibot.com. Please read the guide. If you had used estibot.com correctly for appraising iReport, you would have seen that: 1) the domain was appraised at several thousand dollars. this, according to the guide, means that it is worth a second look and a critical review of the market 2) if you had clicked on the search results, you would have seen that CNN uses the term for the citizen journalism feature 3) you would have then figured, it must be potentially big, and sought expert human advice from experienced domainers -->but then again, the owner of IReport.com did not need an appraisal, and estibot was not designed to give a price for such a name. | |

| NP Superstar™ Forum Moderator | EstiBot.com is great for statistical purposes. I almost always ignore the value it gives the domains. I take the statistics and apply them in my reseach when buying or selling a domain or just plain want to figure some prices on domains i am holding. I also use other sites similar to this like dnsoop.com. These are hefty tools and often used in the wrong ways.

| NamePros Regular | Sites like estibot, dnscoop an all I find really useful for infos about the domain name. Use these two sites and you get to know almost everything about the domain name. From the PPC score, Overture to the PR and Alexa ranking. The Appraisal value, its not always right. For example, ViewPrevious.com is appraised at USD 1,200 by estibot but this is ONLY based on the number of results Google / MSN gives for this term you find on every page of a forum or blog. IMO this domain is not even worth a dollar!
