besides tdnam, you can find many expired names at snapnames.com, namejet.com and pool.com

..yea, I only pull in files once, so it's possible for someone to come along later and rereg their name before it actually goes through the process.

It's definately a NameJet issue probably more than anything (as they are monthly dumps). They've started offering more updated, smaller files, however, and it's on my list of things to addres with the rewrite later this year.
