![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | domain tasting (with godaddy ?) ..and another newbie question, is it possible to do domain tasting with godaddy ? It's quite easy with dynadot but I thought I better ask if it's possible with godaddy as well .. 5 days are pretty short, what's the best way to estimate the value of a domain. Thanks, Oliver |

![]() | Officially GoDaddy don't offer refunds on domains. You can call them up and ask to reverse the registration in the first 5 days but I don't think they really like doing it. If you keep on doing it I'm not sure what they'd do. ????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/domain-newbies/399774-domain-tasting-with-godaddy.html As for valuing traffic to a domain? Run some parking pages and see what money you make. If you don't make enough to justify the registration for a year (based on what you see in the days you have it) and you don't think you'd sell it then return it. Dynadot give you 4 days to test - you should delete by the end of the 4th day to guarantee a deletion process ("To guarantee a successful grace deletion and an account credit, please allow 24 hours to process your request. In other words, make your request before the start of the 5th day.") Based on paying $8.99 at Dynadot and parking for 4 days: 365 / 5 = 91.25 periods $8.99 / 91.25 = $0.098 Realistically I'd say you'd want to make more than 10 cents in 4 days to make a registration worth keeping - thats not a lot of clicks and indeed 1 click in that period as a fluke would set the outlook for the year wrong. |

![]() ![]() | Let me just give you guys an idea why they dont like it... It costs them money every time you return a domain.. if someone actually misspelled it or made a mistake, thats one thing. But to intentionally purchase a domain with the intent to return it within 5 days---In my opinion is wrong. That costs money to GoDaddy every single time you do that. Just my opinion =) -tux |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | If you cancel the domain from your account you can send an email to support asking for a refund. I've done it a few times with no problems. They emailed me when I asked and told me to do it that way and that it was ok to get a refund.
