![]() | how do i do it? I love inventing new domain names, and would like to make money doing this. but i think iv just found out the hard way that its not as easy as that. I have seen many domain names with no website and no traffic that are quite valuable. What is it that makes this type of domain name valuable? |

When you say 'this type of domain' presumably you are referring to what you said above: 'domain names with no website and no traffic'. Traditionally, domaining has almost always been about creating value with domains that have no website. That leaves the 'no traffic' qualification. This also doesn't narrow it down very much, because due to the well publicized practice of 'domain tasting', nowadays it's next to impossible to hand-register a domain with significant traffic on day 1. ????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/domain-newbies/394437-how-do-i-do-it.html So if I understand it correctly when you say 'What is it that makes this type of domain name valuable' you are effectively asking what makes any new domain valuable (as in manually registering one today). This would be a huge topic to take on, so it would be great if you could confirm whether this is the right interpretation of your question at all.

![]() ![]() | It's value is in what an end user is willing to pay for it, until that point that an offer is made, it's worth the reg fee only, and sometimes not even that. As pointed out before, when buying domains, try to find ones that a potential aftermarket buyer will have some emotional attachment with. The best end user to locate and market towards is your typical small to medium sized enterprise. Welcome to the forum. |

![]() | Thanks for replies. sorry i havnt explained myself very well. If i regiestered a name today, why would eg xxxx.com be more popular than yyyy.com. I thought of the name rarebuy.biz. I know that .com would be better, but someone has bought it. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Domain tasting has no idea what kind of traffic a not yet registered name gets. So you can find traffic names if you do your research and then reg them yourelf.
