lll names

Pardon my ignorance but could someone explain the meaning of lll or llll names? I've seen this mentioned a few times but I'm not sure what these lll names are or mean.

Thanks

JT

Here L stands for Letter so that way LLL means three letter domain and LLLL means four letter domain.

kwaping is on a distinguished road

One more, for CVCV.com, C is a consonant and V is a vowel. That would be something like "SEDO.com".
