![]() | How to look up word sequence frequency? On a site that advertises premium name valuation here, they say that for a domain to be considered premium: "Full word(s) sequence must be referenced > 150,000 times in Yahoo. Full word(s) sequence must be searched > 500 times monthly in Overture." How would I look that up? Just go on Yahoo, type in the word sequence, and see how many searches are done for it? |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | The overture tool is here http://inventory.overture.com/d/sear...ry/suggestion/ For google, yahoo msn, etc... You can reference sequence by placing the term in quotations and then you will see the number of times with the result. The below search on "domain name" gives 51,600,00o google results, ????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=388251 http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=%22domain+name%22 If you do not use the quotations the result will be with either word, in the above case it jumps to 175,000,000 results. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Forgive me if this is obvious ~ I'm a newbie. Also forgive me for piggybacking on this thread, tho I think it's related... I'm wondering if someone can explain why a specific 2-word phrase (like "flight attendant") would get 21,000 hits on Google, but get nothing on Overture? Does that mean that, while there are a lot of sites out there that reference the phrase, it is not a phrase that gets searched for much? |

????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=388251 Look at it as requests vs results. The requests (ovt) are your potential customers. The results (Google) are your competitors. Sorry for the continued hijack, but it was fairly related. Cyberian

![]() | Well, this is very informative. And somewhat depressing. None of the (seven) names that I've registered so far are getting more than a few hundred searches on Yahoo. And there I thought I was such a stud (ette.) And my next plan - to pick domain names that have high paying keywords - doesn't necessarily seem like such a great idea either - for instance, I thought "porcelain veneers Miami" would be great because the keywords for porcelain veneers go for about $10, and there's a lot of money and cosmetic surgery in Miami. BUT- only a couple of hundred searches for it on Yahoo. Do you guys think that names with only a few hundred searches will not get many clicks on their ads when parked? |

????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=388251 Also, what do you mean, exactly, when you say none of the names are getting more than a few hundred searches on yahoo? Does yahoo give you that info (searches), or ovt? If it's ovt, I would think a few hundred (monthly?) searches for your domain name would be pretty dang good ~ but I'm probably misreading your meaning. | ||||

![]() | When I did the search, I put it in quotes and searched in Yahoo. I did that because of what I mentioned in the original post - that there was an advertising site on here that said that in order to be considered a premium domain name, "Full word(s) sequence must be referenced > 150,000 times in Yahoo. Full word(s) sequence must be searched > 500 times monthly in Overture." I'm not sure why they say Yahoo rather than Google - if anyone here knows, I'd love to know! |
