Name.com offers regs at $5.99 per .com and are a good registrar. There will be cheaper registrars, or perhaps ones with equal pricing, but not ones I would recommend. Perhaps check here:

Good luck!

Just curious.. how is RegisterBird's $9.76 for a ".com" the cheapest around? If you are looking at the $3.99 offer, it requires purchasing other services.

At ivoy.com, I have a flat fee $6.95/year without any other commitments.

i would suggest namepros and godaddy. They are cheap and have a good feeback.
For godaddy you can find also couponcodes on the net.

$6.95 at Moniker and Enom (as a reseller)
There is no any price lower than $6.95 without any obligation.
All of those $3.95 or lower offers comes with additional services you should buy from these sellers (for ex. hosting package).

I use 1and1.com. $5.99 domain names with Private Registration and a 1GB email account.

The only things I don't like about them is:
1) When you make a DNS change, it takes FOREVER to propagate. Sometimes a day and a half! Time is money in this business so that's lost money when switching from one parking company to another.

2) No way to export you domain name list to an excel file. If you want to keep track of all your domains, you have to type them in to a spreadsheet. Pain in the arse.

Other than that, they are pretty solid.

I've heard quite a bit of negative stuff about 1and1. Aparently they renew your domains automatically complicating things for you in case you want to drop a domain, so you have to warn them beforehand and even then!
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=386140

I personally use Goddady and have had no problems and their support is very good

Be carefull because cheap is not allways good!

Yes.... Its true that they renew your domains automatically. BUT.... You can set them to drop on a certain date. So.... If you keep track of your expiration dates, it shouldn't be a problem.

Sorry mate, maybe my response coulda been a bit more -eh- subtle.
Still, I would not call the renewal (there) at a higher price an 'obligation'.

Anyway:
I purchased some domains at Name.com last night with my CC instead of PayPal, and got:
"WARNING:
Your transaction has been flagged for review by our fraud department. This does not necessarily mean that the order is actually fraud. The order will still be processed."
Whoa... lol

And it could have been worded a bit more 'customer-friendly' anyway, wouldn't you agree? P'haps something like:
"This is an common security measure; it does not mean that we automatically consider the order to be fraudulent."

On top of Name.com, my CC company (needless to say I checked, and it was indeed really them, not some scamsters) also called this morning to verify the purchase, as well as one I'd done one about 30 mins prior to reg'ing the domains.
Good thing, I guess, but bit unexpected...

Anyway:
CHEERS!

Rob

No cheapest registrar, only cheaper registrars. Depends on what TLD / ccTLD u want to purchase. Some registrar offer cheap price on .com , some .net some .info and some restrict on first year and new registration only, some even free but charge highest fees on next year... So, there is no cheapest registrar.

A list of registrars that offer domain registration (some with coupon) on cheap price.

Mydomain.com / Domain.com
Price: As low as $5.95, depends how many you want to purchase.
Coupons code: htmli.info - 15% OFF of your entire order by using this coupon

Register.com

Netfirms.com

Godaddy.com
Price: $10 for two .net domain
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=386140
Coupon code: gdm0412c

Name.com

That is our normal price for .com registrations on our main site. We frequently have $6.95 sales on .coms and sales on infos as well as other domains. You just happened to catch us when our sale was not active. But our main site is actually geared more towards customers who want 24/7 toll free phone support and what not. We actually have a Star program you may not know about. It is free to use and was targeted for domainers. It offers a lower price without the 24/7 free phone support. We also offer sales on the star program as well. If you caught us at the right time on halloween, domain registrations on the Star program were only $6.66/yr. Members of the Star program also have the ability to pay using NP$.
