Newbie with 2 maybe 3, 4, or 5 basic questions

1.What is the minimum I can earn a day and please don't say 00.00?
2.How do I test to buy domains?
3.What are testing, tasting, landing pages, 4.how do i
set them up, 5.how do I analyze those pages' information?
6.Who are the most reputable, flexible domain registers? ie. Dynadot?
4.Do I register for a personal or business account, does it matter?

I have a basket full of domains waiting to find out how to evaluate before I buy any. Thanks

1. yes, it can br $0.00
2. theres a taste period that you buy the domain and you see if it/they will have traffic and if you dont like you delete it and you can reg another one, but theres a fee (small but there is when you delete a name)
3. i assume that test and taste mean the same and i explained it above
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/domain-newbies/385759-newbie-2-maybe-3-4-5-a.html
4 & 5. it isnt difficult at all... the registrars have the info on how you can manage your names and as i told before it isnt difficult at all
6. for me the best registrar is moniker... you can see comments about them here in NP
of course we have accounts in many registrars because when you buy a domain the previous owner can push the domain to your account at the same registrar the domain is (it is free)... if you transfer the name to another registrar you pay a fee that is a renewal fee (in almost all cases)
7. ive got a personal account

good luck!!!

1.What is the minimum I can earn a day and please don't say 00.00?
- I'd be more concerned about the maximum. The minimum for any amount is always 0.

2.How do I test to buy domains?
- Use a registrar like Dynadot or Moniker which allows you to taste names...which brings us to the next question.
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=385759

3.What are testing, tasting, landing pages, 4.how do i
- Tasting: when you register a domain name, park it for 5 days. If it gets traffic, you keep it. If it doesn't, you return it back to the registrar (for a fee of $0.25 at Moniker, free at Dynadot).
Testing: when you point a name at a parking account to see what kind and quality of traffic it gets.
Landing Page: The page you are greeted with when you visit a parked page.

5.how do I analyze those pages' information?
- Depends on the parking company. Sedo and Parked have extensive stats. Bodis, not quite. Pay careful attention to where the traffic is coming from, and what keywords people are searching for (this shows up in your parking account). High paying keywords are financial keywords like mortgage, loan, bank, etc. and casino/poker keywords, as well as big ticket item keywords: cars, credit cards, etc.

6.Who are the most reputable, flexible domain registers? ie. Dynadot?
- I'd suggest you get an account at each of the following. You'll need them when you buy domains:
Moniker (the safest. Best for high value names)
eNom (2nd most popular after GoDaddy)
GoDaddy (most popular)
Dynadot (free tasting)
Register.com (not so popular, but many older names are still with them. Expensive)
DirectI (for all its resellers, like Whiz.in)
NameCheap (quite popular)
Answerable.com (popular because of Snapnames)

4.Do I register for a personal or business account, does it matter?
I'm not sure of this, but you cannot (or shoudn't) register for a business account if you don't have any legitimate business. Tax problems may happen.

You can always ask the people here for opinions and appraisals.

Good luck! And believe me, its not too late to get in (I've been doing this for less than 5 months myself!)

1.What is the minimum I can earn a day and please don't say 00.00?
The minimum you could earn is spending money without bringing any in.

2.How do I test to buy domains?
Moniker has the most ease of doing this IMO

3.What are testing, tasting, landing pages,
Generic landers that will have basic templates that can test for traffic and provide some revenue

4.how do i set them up,
Not a simple answer

5.how do I analyze those pages' information?
If it is on track to make more than ~$10 per year then it is a good one to register. Any more than that is just gravy.
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=385759

6.Who are the most reputable, flexible domain registers? ie. Dynadot?
Moniker IMO

4.Do I register for a personal or business account, does it matter?
Depends. Are you registering these names for a business or personal? If you're just starting off personal is probably fine.

Thanks everyone, I have about 70 domains and they are all parked at NameDrive their service is free with good setup tutorials. Seems like I have a few good DNS but I have to get cracking on developing their own websites and I am just learning howto do this as I go along.

When you start, the minimum will be a negative amount because you will have expenses. You actually have to work your way up to $0.00 per day. Once you've worked your way up to an average of $0.00 per day, where you're income from domains is enough to pay for your renewal fees, then you are on the right track...just keep going from there. A newbie should probably think in terms of pennies until a repeatable method has been established. That's the time to get excited, because it's the method or formula you're after. From there, it's just a matter of how much time you can put into your method until you turn your pennies into dollars, or until for some reason you find your method is no longer working. I remember when after working for a few days I told my mom I was making another 15 or 25 cents per day. She didn't share my enthusiasm, but after I spent enough time on it the pennies turned into dollars a day. Now we sometimes have a chuckle when looking back at the "old days". There's different ways to make money using domains or with websites. At first, I'm pretty sure the common theme among all methods is you have to work a long time with the feeling you're getting nowhere. In some cases it might seem like someone "made it overnight" but there was probably lots of thinking and work put into it before they were successful, whether it's time spent learning how to make a webpage or reading forums on domaining. That's probably where lots of people give up for one reason or another...they put in so much time but see little or no results moneywise...but if you're learning something, even a little bit here and there, that's where you're getting closer to finding what works for you....and it likely won't be a straight line of progression...you might spend quite a bit of time on something only to find that method doesn't won't...but that's still part of the learning. Once you've found a repeatable formula to bring in the pennies, you will still have to work hard at it to turn the pennies into dollars, but it won't seem as hard because you will be excited as you start to see the pennies add up.

Where do you find this info at Sedo? I can see the "unique views" and "CPC" figures, etc. But where do you get the info on where the traffic is from and what keywords they're searching? This would be great to know.

On the domain parking menu (when you are looking at the stats) There is a small icon with an "I" in it next to the domain name. Click that icon and a page with keywords and contries will come up.
