Is Afternic worth it?

I am considering joining afternic. Has anyone made a decent sale without paying for the extra marketing from them? Thank you

I thought you have to pay $19.95/year so that you can sell your domains at Afternic? Or am I wrong?

To sell on afternic, you have to be a member and the membership is $19.95 per year. I won't be renewing my membership, since afternic do not accept adult domains.

I would go with sedo, they are free, and have no limitations on the type of domains you can sell.

Interesting. In terms of exposure, what kind of market share does register.com have? What's their target market? From other threads, seems everyone wants to transfer out whenever they win a dropped name there.

Register.com has been around a long time, probably get a lot of searches, though their reg fees are sky high. I'd say Afternic is worth 19.95 per year to list unlimited domains. Sedo would be worth it too, one day they may go that route. Afternic has had a lot of changes in the last year to get more exposure for domains listed on their site, though my results with them haven't improved much yet.

Been using SEDO mostly for domain name parking, haven't sold anything yet.

I've been with both Afternic and Sedo for a couple of months, I've got about 20 domains listed on both and so far not had the slightest sign of interest from anyone. At this rate I won't be renewing my Afternic which cost around $20 (something I didn't really want to pay as I figured it was just another way for a company to make money doing nothing on my back and so far it has proved to be just that) - Sedo has been no good either but so far they haven't cost me anything at least.

They still charge $20 a year? I left them when they did that, i figured out i didnt get $20 of worth out of them......but there always that "if you sell one name" argument
