godaddy backorder question

hmm this is odd.. 10 hours left and I placed a backorder for the domain name now.. but it doesn't show any opening bid or any bid at all???

I also set in the panel of backordering the domain name... still it shows no bids?

do i have to go to tdnam and bid on it?? I thought the backorder system does its self?

If you find it on tdnam and bid on it, and win, you may find that GD will bill you for the backorder as well as the auction bids.
Happened to me! ( I then emailed them and they refunded the backorder )

yeah I would assume they would do that.. but I'm just wondering...

I have 1 Hr left till the auction is over and it's not a big big name at all... but I just thought after a backorder, they would assign a bid for me..

So i'm not sure if I should just bid and if they charge, as for a refund for the bid, since I already paid a backorder fee.

Or am I supposed to let the domain expire, without making a bid and that the backorder will pick it up as soon as it expires?

well, I guess the auctions over now, hope you got your name! I would think if you had it backordered and no-one bids for it, then you get it. and the backorder only cost you $8 more than the min bid!

well I bid on it just to be sure.. and after conatcting their support.. they want me to PAY the backordering fee and now the bid fee.. I sent them another reply and we'll see what they say...

basically they want to rip me off.. they haven't said that they would refund me.

What I find funny is EVEN after telling them I! was the ONLY one who bid or would have bid.. they STILL don't understand that... Either way I would have won, wither I bid or backorder..

Also, NO WHERE on their site does it say "backordering WHILE an auction for a domain is taking place, will NOT show ur starting bid"
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/domain-newbies/373981-godaddy-backorder-question.html

Seems like godaddy wants to rip people off these days and I was relecutant to try them too... I hope they resolve this issue.

I've asked that either they refund my backorder fee and I'll pay the bid fee, or they keep my backorder fee and give me the domain, since I was the ONLY person who bid on it anyways...

well one of the rep decided to refund me, so I sent a request for it. However, another tech, who submitted the refund request says it needs to be approved by the billing department, so i hope they will approve it. I already spent the backorder fee and then the bid fee. So I hope they refund my backorder, since I no longer need it and already spent more on the bid fee.

Sorry to post again, but I just got a refund back from godaddy. I have to say, so far their support staff hasn't been too bad, except for one member.

Thanks GoDaddy
