GoDaddy backorders..Rep given

If I backorder an expiring name, does that mean that I get it for certain? Does it go through a bidding process? What is the cost? Do I recieve a refund if I do not get it? Thank you

No, backordering does not mean you will get it for certain.

You compete with other backordering services and the owner could renew.

At GoDaddy, it costs $18.99 without coupons.

If you fail to receive the domain you backordered with GoDaddy, you get another credit to try again on a diffrent domain.

By complete with other backordering services, do you mean that if someone else bids on it, it will go to a bidding process? Rep added.

Consider using godaddy backorder only if the expiring domain is held at Godaddy or at a Wildwest Reseller, otherwise as asteroid mentioned, you would have a greater chance of success with other services.

Godaddy backorder service is a waste if you are eyeing on a good name. First they put the name on Auction if no one buy it there then you get it.

Just to add on to champ_rock's post, it gives you the domain if the domain gets no bids instead of letting it go to $5 BIN. www.tdnam.com.

I agree with asteroidblues. Snapnames does a better job. Good luck.

what if you bid after it's on auction already? Then what? Since I don't see my bid there...
