Question Is it worth getting both singular and plural?

I was wondering what your advice would be on this.
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/domain-newbies/369607-is-worth-getting-both-singular-plural.html

Say I managed to get something like luxurytrip .com should I always also get luxurytrips .com if it's available?

I would have thought that if someone wanted to buy luxurytrip from me they would be quite likely just to get luxurytrips instead if it is cheaper so I sould try to prevent this.

Or is it worth getting both with the intention to sell together?

My instincts tell me I should but I'm not sure if it's worth getting 2 very similar domains (wouldn't be as good as example) when I could be getting something totally different instead which might do better...

Thanks from a newbie!

Nice question.
I would certainly say, It is worth it only If the name is worth it

If It's really a decent name, meaningful name, you should try to collect as many extensions as you can, in addition the plural version.

This way you prevent others to grab your name, and at the same time people can type the singular or plural by mistake in their browser..and they would be redirected to another site.

At least for me, It happened a few times that I added 's' to a domain name that I visit, and It takes me to an entirely new place.
