![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | best usage of similar names i have a few sets of names that are very similar, or are identical with different extensions, that i am looking at developing. but, as i am very new to this, im not sure the best way to use the names i have; should i develop 1 name and simply redirect the similar ones to the one developed site and hope that their value indirectly increases as the primary 1 increases with traffic, backlinks, ranking etc? is there a BETTER way to monetize on all of them or at least increase their value more consistently? Another question/thought: would it help to raise value if i sell 1 or a few of the similar names in a set (keeping what i consider the 'best 1') and hope that development done by others on the sold names will increase my kept domains value? ????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/domain-newbies/369411-best-usage-of-similar-names.html YET ANOTHER Question: Is it better to register other available extensions for a name you plan to develop (so that others do not do similar sites with with same name-dif extension) or save the additional reg money, just focus on the .com development, and let the extensions sit/get grabbed by someone else? any useful tips are greatly appreciated and will be recognized/repd. cheers, denver

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | first of all, develop the name that you think is best, regardless of current traffic. if any of the names you have left have appreciable and relevant traffic, then redirect them to the main site. be sure to log where hits are coming from on your main site, so you can see when there's a decline of traffic from the redirecting domain. once your undeveloped domains no longer have traffic on them, you can sell them. you could also redirect all the related names to the main one, but i don't think that's very effective, and too much of hassle if they don't even get any traffic.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | there are 2 things you can do. 1 way described above perfectly. 2nd way is to develop to similar but differet websites, use different contest, and to crosslink them to each other. it just require more work.
