| NamePros Member | I registered a domain here recently but am having troubles. I am COMPLETELY new to this. I am trying to figure out how to set my domain as a primary on an Invisonfree board. How do I point to it with a CNAME record? And do any other records need to be used along with it? The domain of the board is: http://z8.invisionfree.com/The_Local_Tavern/ And the domain I wish to use is: http://forums-localtavern.net/ I apologize if this is not the right section. |

| Domains my Dominion | I think you need to use URL forwarding for that purpose: point your domain to http://z8.invisionfree.com/The_Local_Tavern/. For that you would need to use Enom DNS for example (NP domains are registered with Enom). CNAME is used to create alias (eg. www.forums-localtavern.net = forums-localtavern.net). It would be a good idea to use it so that your site works without www. too.

| NamePros Member | I'm not sure if you understood my question. Here is the error I get every time I try: Errors modifying hosts: Address: http://z8.invisionfree.com/the_local_tavern is invalid. CNAME address must be defined host name or fully qualified domain name.Errors modifying hosts: Address: http://z8.invisionfree.com/the_local_tavern is invalid. CNAME address must be defined host name or fully qualified domain name. As far as I know, z8.invisionfree.com IS a valid hostname. That's why I cant figure out why it keeps giving me this error... |

| NamePros Member | I looked it up and followed instructions exactly. But I still get an error. I have changed the A Address accordingly to go with it. It still will NOT allow me to use the CName record. I think there is a bug or something because I have seen it work for multiple people. Can some one please help me? |
