Hi all,

This is the 1st time I am login to this forum. I am brand newbie, I read some of the threads here and lould like to begin buying domain.

I have several questions:
1. I am thinking to sub for OnlineNIC with 50 domain pre-payment probably, but is that better use them or eNom because I also read that eNom have a dropclub?? Please give enlightment for newbie. But looks like OnlineNic better support and cheaper?

2. If let say I use OnlineNic or eNom service and I park to Sedo or DomainSpa is that possible? Could I just URL fwd to Sedo or DomainSpa but still register with OnlineNic or eNom?

3. Which is better for parking at Sedo, eNom, Traffiz or maybe others?

4. Let say parking use Sedo, they use Google engine right...so if my domain consist of popular searchable keyword, does it gonna be show in google searching result or just when certain user put the exact address/click link from other webpage? Please confirm.

5. My strategy is buy quite a lot expired domain with traffic and park with PPC, second one is buy new domain for investment let say .us, .de, .cn, .fr, etc. What do you all senior think? Any suggestion?

6. I come across people saying about 3 letter domain (like .us which gone lately), why it's so popular to have 3 letter domain?
Is it very valuable? Even though there is no meaning/make sense (like ccc/zxc/vqz,etc) ?

Welcome here Joe, and even I'm almost a newbie too, I can try to answer you... I'm sure senior members will correct me if I'm wrong

1. Before sign up with OnlineNIC, please read reviews on them in WHT or maybe here. I hear a lot of bad stories about them... eNom has a Drop Club indeed, you can bet to get expired domains. The eNom support is very good but very slow

2. You can register your domain names anywhere and park them to Sedo or DomainSpa using url forwarding or nameservers.

3. Try to use search feature here and you'll find some threads about the best parking service. But I don't think eNom offers a parking service. Sedo is my prefered but the only one I tested until now

4. Sedo use Google AdWords and not the Google search engine. And maybe I'm wrong, but I don't think you'll be in the search engine if you park your domain with Sedo.

5. I'm not senior, but if you buy the good expired domain with a lot of traffic, you'll have traffic and so earn something. But the good expired domain are not cheap, you'll have to use pool or others to get them.

6. Why so popular the 3 characters are ? Maybe because it's impossible to register them because all are sold yet. I can say I bought some 3 characters expired domains and I resell them already.

Yep, Dgaussin you hit the nail on the thread.

Joe, I would suggest starting out with say 5 Registrations at a time. Register 5 DOmains, then come back to the forums and get them appraised, and see what you need to improve on next time you register domains. Then go and register 5 more domains, and on until you have the swing of things.

You can get 5 Domains for $40 from an Enom Reseller.

Yep, you HEARD!
I am using them for over 2 years and did not had any major problems with them (unlike the few other "respectable" registrars i used).

I recommend OnlineNIC, although their support is not good as it used to be (but its anyway better than many other supports i contacted).

Anyway, here are my answers:
1. OnlineNIC is definitely cheaper, eNom is also good. Whatever you choose, you will not miss.
2. Yes
3. Both Sedo and Trafficz are good. But i recommend Trafficz if you have low traffic and Sedo if you have high traffic.
4. No.
5. Good strategy
6. Yes, but dont know why.

Indeed, like I said, just heard bad rumors about OnlineNIC, but if dax is happy with them, it's maybe not so bad

But I've a question, why Trafficz is fine when you have low traffic ?

IMHO, Trafficz gets you 3$ for 1000 visitors (constantly).
Sedo gets you approx. 5$ for 1000 visitors (it can vary, but this is my experience). But Sedo will get you more as traffic increases. F.e. if you have 2000 visitors, you may get 11$ instead of 10 (2x5$) while you'll get on Trafficz always 3$ x number of visitors / 1000. Also you may get less than 10$ on Sedo, but probability for that are lower since traffic is going higher.

I think this depends a lot on the type of domain..

If it's typo traffic people tends not to click on the ads that much, since they are looking for another site, and you may end up with aprox. $5 pr. 1000 visitors.

But it it's targeted traffic you can get a lot more.
I have a couple of very targeted domains that gets me $40-50 pr. 1000 visitors.. (40-50% click rate)

Welcome to the forum,

I can't really comment on this question I have not tried Enom.com when I looked at their reseller program it looked a bit confusing so I gave up. and their prices when I looked said $24.95 per year for a .com,

Once you find a domain name with traffic use a company like Namewinner or Pool to put a back order on it and if you get lucky and win the domain then park it with sedo.com for a few weeks this will give you an idea of the kind of traffic the domain gets and the income you will get from it at sedo.com,

But you do need to make sure the keyword you use is targeted to the traffic the domain gets or your click thru will be low and the payper click will also be low,

The more targeted you get with your keywords the more you will make from ppc.

If you feel after say 1 month you are not doing well with sedo.com try another PPC ,like DomainHop.com which I am testing now and am getting some better results for the domains I moved there from Sedo.com

Go with Sedo.com first and if you like them stay their other wise try DomainHop.com or Fabulious.com if you have more then 100 domains...

That depends on if google spiders your domain parked at sedo.com and you may get lucky and have it listed in google or other search engines, but I find sedo.com parking pages pretty lacking and not much content which the engines don't like the more content the better chance of getting listed in search engines.

Another reason I am starting to like DomainHop.com

If you want to start making a good income out of expired domains with traffic and park them with a PPC like Sedo.com then you need to have a lot of domains 50+ for make a low $xxx (Depending on the domain name keyword used)

My target is 250 domains and each domain making $0.50 per day would make me $125 per day which would be great...

It is like anything you just need to keep re-investing and working on building your portfolio of domains.

As for investing in domains with out traffic that is more risky unless you know what your buying,

.us and .de one word dictionary words maybe worth investing in.

You should read Dukes weekly DNjorunal.com domain sales colum,

3 Letter domains are worth so much because they all have been REG and they are easy to remember and they are also mostly used by companys as an acronym of the company name..
