Moniker is more expensive than Godaddy?

I bought 2 domains that were at Moniker, it's going to be time to renew soon, and I'm discovering it will cost $9.95

Now before anyone offers me some kind of signup to your affiliate/reseller account, I've seen those offering pricing as low as $7.95 (but why do I need to transact through you?) I'm not interested in you getting a commission.

Godaddy with the usual coupon is $6.95. With Moniker I have to deposit $500?! to get that pricing? No, thanks.

Do I understand this correctly?

I use moniker because their service outways a few cents I may be saving by going with another registrar, and if you contact your moniker rep you may be able to gets costs lowered without having to make an initial deposit, but being a domainer... tossing 500-1000 in the account isn't always a bad idea (saves long creditcard/paypal transactions where you may lose a domain if regn new)

You are far better off paying a little more, and being comfortable with your register, Keeping your portfolio in no more than two registers is also a good thing.Imo

interesting attitude, you want help but you don't want to help anyone in return- you know it costs nothing to sign up under anothers affiliate code?

Wow - hey, I've got a great savings account you can throw $1000 into anytime you don't know what to do with your money! ;-)

I got into the domain name reselling business to save money - sounds like Moniker isn't the way to go. (I agree with gingeman - the way to succeed is to help others. Why are you so adverse to allowing someone else to make a small commission?) Good luck to you Marck!

-Mark

http://www.namepros.com/for-sale-adv...oniker+pricing

You don't need to deposit $500. .com is $6.95, .net is $5.49.

If you go to GoDaddy, you'll need to enter coupon codes.

They've never lost a domain, have good customer support (If you don't treat them like cheese-eating surrender monkeys) and personally I find they have a better control system than GoDaddy. Plus, I'm not bombarded with crap when trying to register a domain. I really don't want the .name of the domain....

I would like to hear why signing up through other NP affiliate links is is a bad thing, especially when you're asking for something first.
