![]() | Looking for a domain name Hello, I'm new here. I'm actively looking for a domain name right now. I've looked at many companies, and the cheapest I found so far was 1and1. I've seen many negative reviews about 1and1, and I'm in a dilemma right now. What I just need is a reliable service, one that would not cancel the domain name for no reason at all. Would 1and1 be able to fulfil that at the very least? Thanks. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | half of other people like 1and1 and other half dont. The transferring issue of domain names to another domainer is a big issue. What I've read is that if you want to keep your domain and not planning on selling or transferring it to another registrar, then 1and1 is good registrar to use. Try to read up on some of the previous tread that people posted regarding 1and1 so you get more info about it.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Dont use 1&1. I would use Moniker. They are only $6.95 for a .com and very reliable. If it is a single domain name to be developed into a nice site and you dont care about spending a little more for the domain registration then Network Solutions would also be a good reliable choice. Network Solutions shouldnt be used to hold portoflios of domains though. I have also heard great things about Fabulous and DynaDot but I have not tried either one of them.

![]() | I've only used 1and1 once or twice with no problems, but Ive also heard good things about Moniker. Trial and error. See which one better suits you

![]() ![]() | I switched to Dynadot from 1and1. Didn't have any problems transfering my names (more than 25) to Dynadot in small batches but I've heard some stories from other people that aren't good. The biggest problem I had with 1and1 is that if you want to make any changes to a domain such as dns or contact info they have to be done individually and it was quite annoying not being able to do it in a batch. I could be wrong about this though. I could have been an idiot all along and it's possible to change things in batch, hopefully someone else can confirm or deny it? |
