What should I research? I know search optimization is a key, and social bookmarking seems to be big now, getting on digg or something like that. But what else can I do to promote my site as much as possible. My friend and I are getting together and we are going to start putting a bunch of site ideas I have one bye one. A quick way to drive traffic to your site is to buy advertising. This can get expensive quickly though, so try not to get carried away with it.

Buying links on other peoples pages is a good way to start out your ad campaign, and that will also help you increase your Pagerank, which should help you rank higher in the search engines.

Most likely, your site is not going to be receiving thousands of visitors in the first few months, but if you stick with it and keep advertising, your traffic will rise and your revenue will grow.

Why pay your way to traffic, when you can get it for free?

How to do that? Not by adding fluff to your website. Make it real, with content that the reader is looking for. Keep it updated and fresh and change things around once and a while. If there were only two sites about your subject, which one would the traffic build on, a site with little revelent content but lots of ads, or a site that has just the information needed?

Don't reinvent the wheel. What has alway's worked, still works today.. give them what they are looking for.

You don't have to be patient if you do it right the first time.
