| NamePros Member | Buying and selling domains for no profit?? Hi there I was scouring ebay for domain names and came across alot of auctions where the domain is sold for less than the registration price. Some auctions end at prices like $3 or even less! What's the point of these? I bought one that I found interesting and it was registered less than half a month ago. So technically it's almost the same as just registering it since it's expiring in a year and not next month. It's even half the price. And the sellers also lose ebay fees. Can someone enlighten me? Thanks! |

| Senior Member | They MAY have been getting advertising revenue and now aren't so they're cutting their loses. Or they just might be cutting their loses in general. You win some, you lose some in this game. Its like any other form of investment. Good thing is with domains is is if you register them, you won't be losing much money but if you buy them off of another person without thinking, you might lose a lot.

| Senior Member | There are a few eBay sellers who have about 30 domains or so on eBay at a time. They go and register tons of domains and post them on eBay. Sometimes they make $50+ on a domain and sometimes they make 99 cents. It's all about finding the right person for the domain your selling.
