Won auction on Snapnames and cant do anything with my domain :(

Its literally just sitting there. I can't trasnfer it to Godaddy for 60 days, cause of the ridiculous rule. And, I can't DOMAIN FORWARD it cause it says its not available and has said this for 2 weeks. What do I do? Its just sitting there parked for Snapnames

Its BS! Please help me.

push the domain to your account, find out were its registered and open a account and have them push it..

At oldtowndomains.com which happens to be the SNAPNAMES website. Its not letting me transfer, and they charging me 15 bucks to transfer but the transfer aint working

THAT doesn't even work. What do I do? Are snapnames scammers???

Login

Domains > Last 10

Click the domain

Click "Click here to Manage the Domain Registration properties for yourDomain.com >>"

Click "Modify Name Server"

Enter your DNS settings in the Name Server1 : & Name Server1 : fields.
(Either your hosting DNS settings or Parking Co's)

Click submit.

BTW- Snap are NOT scammers and I assure you they would help if you asked.

I agree with Robert, you should easily be able to change the nameservers, if you want to forward the domain and dont have a host, I can put you on my server free for 60 days and can forward to the URL you want, just let me know.

In the future, Go into Snapnames and setup your default nameservers under Regstration info, so you dont have to go through this again

Thanks for the help guys, lol so I transfered it to Godaddys name servers, and I feel dumb for asking, but what do I do now? Thanks for that exact step by step btw Robert, that worked beautifully. So yes, now my domain is pointing toward GODADDY NS5 nameservers, where it should be, however Godaddy doesn't know thats my domain so how can I manage it or work on it or even park it. Right now snapnames has it parked for themselves.

Do you have a hosting account with GD? I'm guessing not since your using "NS5 nameservers". You need to either pick up a hosting account or take RaiderGirl(Dam I love that avatar) on her offer. Or you could likely pick up a very inexpensive hosting account from someone at NP.

Yep I do have a deluxe hosting account with Godaddy, lol. I even have a couple domains in the deluxe hosting account, And right now my website at snapnames has DNS pointed to NS5 Godaddy hosting servers. But my domain is still over there just hanging out.

It will take a while for the new settings to propagate. Once it does you should be able to manage it via GD Hosting.

NP...Just make sure your using Godaddy's hosting servers and not parking.

Yes they do. When Robert told me that I had to goto "Domains > last 10"... It didn't look right. Lol. But it worked, I would have never even clicked that becuase it looks so outta place.

There is a ICANN rule which stipulates that newly-registered .com names may only be transfered to another registrar after 60 days.

I won 2 names at Snap and the only way it will allow me to change the namesevers is if I buy the Managed DNS Services on each domain for $50/yr!! Looks like I'm going to have to wait the 60 days and transfer!!
