well depending on how many domains you have, you can get hosting that allow x amounr of domains and you just put th esites into fodlers, or you could be a reasonably cheap reseller account...

I highly recommend the 1and1 developer account for you.

http://www.1and1.com

You can host an unlimited # of domains on the same account, tons of storage and you get 100 MySQL databases.

They also give you 5 free domain registrations so long as you keep paying for the account.

I've used them for several months now, Works out perfectly for developing loads of websites and only 1 monthly fee... I think it's only 20 bucks a month.

Don't you find the lag times between registration and availability of the domain for use to be a pain?

try HostMonster or BlueHost. They are great, the support is excellant, big storage and bandwith, cheap etc. I use addon domains function, so I have several websites under one account hosting account.

I can't recall how long it took for the free domains registered with them to propagate... but it wasn't anything ridiculous.

It's true that transferring domains registered at 1and1 isn't super easy, but it is entirely doable.. simply unlock the domain and go through the process.
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/domain-newbies/341768-i-am-gonna-develop-loads-websites.html

The free domains I registered I don't intend to sell and the rest of my domains are with GoDaddy and I just point the name servers to 1and1, so it's not a problem.

I'd recommend HostGator and HostMonster. I'm currently with HostGator and I think they're pretty good. They allow unlimited domains so I don't have to pay extra to host extra domains with them, I've got a few websites hosted under my account.

I think readers need to be sure and interpret suggestions in light of their own situation. A service/performance level which is perfectly acceptable for someone who has 0-20 sites may get a little painful for someone with 50 and downright unusable if you have 500

I use Bluehost as well. Everytime I've had a problem, it's been fixed or the question answered within an hour. Their support is very HEAVY. You can email, call, or access live help (sometimes I call and do live help and see which is faster-usually the live help). I also use their add-on domain feature which is unlimited. They also have free whois privacy.

I'll recommend the one I've used for about 4 years now. Httpme.com is just super, and only sells to resellers. They have reseller accounts that can support unlimited domains within the bandwidth and disk space of your account. I rarely resell off my account and just use it for my many websites, but you can resell hosting too if you want to. Each domain can have completely separate cpanel accounts. I think the lowest package is $35 a month, but you could host hundreds of domains depending on the size of the sites. Before I moved my undeveloped domains to paid parking, I had well over 1000 domains hosted or parked on my accounts.

You won't go wrong with some of the sites mentioned so far...hostgator, hostmonster or bluehost for example.

You can keep all of your websites on one host and pay extra for a unique ip on any site you choose. Just wondering why you want a unique ip though. Is it for ranking in Google?

I use HostGator and MediaTemple. Both have been very good. I used IXWebhosting for a couple of years but they started having a lot of downtime and wouldn't tell me why and if I wouldn't have been monitoring it they wouldn't have given my money back the months they were down less than 99% of the time like their guarantee says. They had the 5 free domains too and they were a little difficult to get away from them when I moved everything.

Hi, I'm a newb and so far just have a couple of sites hosted with Resellerzoom, with its basic budget reseller package, which allows you to host any number of sites up to a certain storage space and traffic limit.
I also have a hosting package with Hostgator, with its baby package, which allows you to host up to 20 sites.
The reason I have the two packages is, I'm just feeling my way around. The great thing about both is, you pay monthly so can cancel anytime.
Both packages cost about the same per month, around $7, give or take a dollar.
With Reseller zoom every site gets its own control panel, with Hostgator you only get one control panel, so if you have 20 sites, you still only get one control panel.
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=341768
With Resellerzoom you can make a few bucks and maybe cover your own hosting costs by reselling, which is what I'm currently doing. With Hostgator's baby package it might be more difficult to resell because like I say you only get one control panel. Of course, you could completely manage somebody else's site, upload their files for them, etc. and charge them accordingly.
With the budget package that I have Resellerzoom charges for help, it's $25 if I recall correctly.
Hostgator doesn't charge for help, I've used their help and it's pretty good.
Hope this helps, I just joined the forum and have got a lot out of it already so thought I'd put something back.

Protect Our Planet
Hostgator, Dreamhost, phpwebhosting are all okay for multiple domains at a good monthly price. Stay away from 1and1.com unless you like to be added to the thousands ripped off by them.

I had to threaten sicking ICANN on 1and1 to get them to cough up a auth code to transfer a domain last month and type in 1and1 "sucks" "ripoff" "bad" etc etc into google and see why it is a good idea to stay well clear of them.

Bad idea. Stick with one or two sites and focus on them. With loads of websites, you'll get too distracted and you won't achieve much.

I've only been with HostGator for 2 months now, so far so good, I have a couple sites on a shared account. My sites total 18gb in size and burn 85gb bandwidth/month.

The price is very afforadable, $10, and they give you plenty of space/bandwidth to grow...

i also use hostgator too. they allow unlimited hits per day, a high cpu max usage for be a shared account /20% aprox./ . As they said allow unlimeted accounts and they help center is very fast *both online chat and ticket system*. Nowadays i love hostgator... time will tell us and they have also a coupon that the first month will cost just 0,95$. Just give a try
