![]() | Parking vs. Selling using SEDO and others I understand you can park your domain(s) at one location (at any given time) by changing your DNS settings. I've seen the threads discussing the various services and requirements. What about putting something up for sale? You can list it on forums such as this one but can you also list it at SEDO, AfterNIC, etc., all at the same time? ????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/domain-newbies/33187-parking-vs-selling-using-sedo-others.html What happens when you sell it? Does SEDO or one of the others still get a commission? It seems like sometimes a lot of names are for sale everywhere. I'm trying to make sense of it. As a beginner, I believe I want to park names with the best chance for some traffic and then advertise them in multiple locations. I just don't want to get in trouble for listing them commercially and then selling privately. Thanks for the education I've been getting reading NP! |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Sedo and Afternic's main objective is to sell domains and take a commision if your domain is sold/brokered through them. It's your domain, you can sell it to whoever you please. Sedo and Afternic also pays you for any clicks your traffic brings while you park and wait for a seller. If you want to know more about them you should go to their website. They have all the information you need to know about there. http://sedo.com http://afternic.com |

![]() | Thanks. I have read the terms. I just wanted confirmation from the pros that you can list a domain in multiple places and sell it wherever it sells without obligation. From what I read in the agreements, they get a commission only on whatever they sell through their site. If this is incorrect, someone please jump in. I think the explanation of these domain broker services would be a good newbie FAQ. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | HI I think sedo ,afternic basically only charges you once they have sold the domain for you on your behalf, So I don't see it to be a problem listing your domains with both companies.. The more places you list your domain name with that you are trying to sell the better your chances are of getting someone interested in your domain, I have most of my names listed on both sedo and afternic for some time now and never had a problem, I also have all my domains listed on my own website just incase I can sell it privately from my own promotional efforts. If I sell a domain on sedo or afternic I just remove the domain from all the other sites where I have the domain listed.. ????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=33187 Thanks Tom Dahne Expired Domain Spy http://www.expireddomainspy.com |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Sedo allows you to place your domain for sale to another company too at the same time-there's no problem with that. You can always sell a name privately even if you have it listed on Sedo-however Sedo relies on its escrow service (to get the comission). If you sell a domain just for $100 there's no issue here, but if you sell it for $1000 you will need Sedo's escrow service in order to be sure you will not lose those money. |

![]() | Snoopi - Thanks. I figured that was the case but between you and everyone else, I now know it's OK to list there but sell wherever. I also appreciate the tip about using their escrow to ensure safe payment. I guess the question I now have is why doesn't everyone list all the names they have for sale there, just in case, since they don't charge to list? |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | z2host it depends from several factors... For instance i have my names there for sale and i also try to list them to several other sites in order to get maximum exposure. I advice you to do the same, you have nothing to lose. However there are people who do not prefer to list their domains there because Sedo is considered to be a marketplace for the masses-if you got me. That means some are afraid that their domains will lose their prestige Hope that answers your questions |

![]() | I understand both your points. I guess I'm still one of the masses and the exposure wouldn't hurt my domains. But when I get something prestigous, I'll be sure to consider where I should showcase it! That's a problem I look forward to having... |
