Do I have enough $$$ For a .COM LLL Domain

Hello,
I have been coding a gaming network site for nearly a year now and its completely unbranded and needs a name.

The idea is a bit like LOTR, one site to rule them all. Anyway, for the master, flagship site I want to purchase a single LLL domain to act as the company name, the budget it maximum $14,000 Is there any possibility of picking up a good LLL .com domain for this sort of value?

The domain must either I or G in it to work and cannot have QYWV and Z in it.

The maximum is 14,000 but I would really prefer not to extend futher then 10,000

Thanks for any advice.

I don't think you'll find one, personally. You can check out the high priced domain section here, you'll see they go for xx,xxx at least. Your just in that range.

You have a good budget, why not do some brainstorming, ask people here for ideas, I bet you could find a really nice name...maybe even one you just register and save 13,991.01 .

For $14,000 you may be able to get an LLL.com with I or G in it, just wait around and ask around to see if anyones selling.

I wasn't suggesting there is one to register. Just that there is the possibility of finding a domain that would fit well with the site that's unregistered...not that this name would be a lll.com.

The simple answer is: no

Even weak LLL.com's (like mine for example) are fetching reseller prices of 3.5k-4.5k - at your budget, you could purchase 3 LLL.com's - but not ones without weak lettering. You probably can purchase 2 LLL.com's with decent lettering for your budget, but not 3.

Good luck.

Justin

I thought he meant a single 3 letter domain, because he wrote 'a 3 LLL domain' if he wants three good quality hes not gonna get it. He should be able to get 1 good one for $14,000 though.

i'm just a wannabe domainer, but let me say: you can do a LOT more with $10,000 than just buy one domain name. i would buy the domain name explicitly if i knew i would be profiting, but in this case you're buying it kind of as a marketing expense... but your company isn't even profitable.

of course, i don't know anything else about your situation, but that's my $0.02

Buying domains like lll.com is more than a marketing expense, it's also an investment because domains like these are increasing in value, and have inherent value since they are limited in number (there's only so many lll combinations). They can be considered an asset to your business, like if a brick & mortar business owned the land they were on.

Yes to everyone, I meant a single domain, sory for saying a 3 LLL domain. I mean a 3 L domain

Anyway,
I know the prices on LLL are more secure then the house market, maybe they wont rise as much ofcourse, but the prices are stable and they arent budging. Prices will never fall in them.
I am just hoping to find something within my price range.

Any more suggestions would be great.

Well Kalyse as i told you at DigitalPoint things are somehow solid
There are either lower value names and some people sell them or higher value and their owners keep them. I don't know what other suggestion i can give you, just wait and see if there is a similar offer like the one you want

at 10K you should be able to find something to your likeing, right now there are millions of DN's for sale, Not near enough buyers, you might take advantage of the slow market right now to snag you a nice LLL.com

if your budget is up to $14k, i'm relatively certain that you'll find a decent LLL.com

Start checking Sedo, Snapnames and TDNAM,..i guess eBay, just to make sure.
Also, continuously browse the for sale section on NP, you're bound to find a decent one. The specific letters that you're looking for are a bit more challenging, though.

Best of luck!

I would be careful about saying you need an 'i' or a 'g'.

If I had one that included these characters, it's already gone up an extra $2K on the price I would have previously taken, knowing you'd prefer a domain with one of these two characters over a domain without them...

Why not try and buy one in the drops at snapnames - they can sometimes go cheaper than $10K

toj - went for 8,600 in feb 07
vjw - went for 5,500 in jan 07

competition for LLL.com is always fierce but you may get lucky ??

You can easily get a decent LLL.com for $14k or less.
