I have 50$ in my paypal to start domaining... Where Should I go from there.. I was thinking of getting a .tv but there just overcrowed right now... Any Ideas??

seriously, can't you register these for like 99c ? what's the value in these? i figured they were mostly worthless.

depends on what ones you get, I buy them at 99 cents and sell them all the time.. mostly with sites on them but some without. if you don't think its worth it, might you suggest something else?

2 x .mobi = $ 20
+
3 x .com = $ 25
+
4 x .info = $ 5
----------------
$ 50

Pick your favorite one, develop it, and park the others meanwhile.

First domain to pick up for most: .com

I would get a few .COMs, look into other extensions such as .NET, .US, .MOBI, .INFO, and .ORG. Choosing a registrar can be hard, take a look at the reviews index:

actually, it's more of a question than anything... i'm just as much of a noob. i guess there's a part of me sort of obsessing about the dominance of the .com still. i probably need to get over that.

I would advise getting a few cheap, traffic+ revenue names. If you're vigilant in your search, you will find domains making a few dollars in traffic revenue going for about $7-$20. I find some on NP, or domainstate. That way, you're already getting almost immediate returns on your investment.

I would start with a Dot Com, Always think quality, not quantity, I would rather have four quality names, than 100 garbage names. focus on the quality for the best money, think outside of just reselling the name, think of a website development, a long term parking option, to many n00bs come into domaining with dollar signs in thier heads, and are disappointed when they can't sell a domain name, have a plan for every name you purchase, mainly, don't have instant resell $$$ signs in your head. best of luck to you.

For $50, you can probably register 3 .cc domains with the Godaddy discount (it might be a tad over $50). There are still lots of great one-word domains available in the .cc extension, but they are steadily being gobbled up.

Here are a few ideas ~ ethnic, jogging, beet, plywood, Annapolis (all were available last time I checked)

I recently sold a .cc name for mid-$xxx, so I'm not just full of hot air

I think .mobi is your best bet for future investments. The .com ext is saturated and you wont find anything good for $50, unless you want my mansionlisting.com. Good luck

go for domains that are dropping with pr and google searches. theres usually daily lists on namepros heres the sub-forum here
