PR Question

I have a question about Page Rank and domain names, I see the listing of Page Rank domains in the wild, and I was wondering does page rank mean there will be traffic on the domain? how would I find out what search terms make that Page Rank what it is.

I noticed that SEOlogs ranks the page X/10 does that mean that if it is 2 it is the 2nd non sponsered link on googles search pages?

is there a way to check to see if the popularity is because of pre existing backlinks?

I know I ask a ton of questions here and in chat, but I really am trying to learn, and the only way I know how to do that is to ask those more experienced then me

thanks for any input you may have

pagerank is not a good indicator of traffic. it is merely a measure of how many backlinks there are to a website, and the quality/relevance of those backlinks.

no. in fact, having a higher pagerank is better than having a low one.

PR is not associated with search rank that can be translated to traffic
Also PR is not a steady measurement you see today and can be sure it will be the same tomorrow
There are lot of factors and variables to form a somehow stable PR but if i want to summarize in one word this word is "quality"

However PR is not an issue you can ignore. High and stable PR numbers can certainly help your site's linking strategy or get you parking visitors

Actually, there is.

If you want a little bit of work...

Go to http://www.submitexpress.com/linkpop/ and check the domains you want.

On the results page click on the number of the Yahoo back links for your domain. A new window will pop up with the results.

Copy the address of that page, which will start with something like http://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com/search?...

Then go to http://www.iwebtool.com/visual_pagerank and paste that address above on the search box. Just remember to Not include the http:// and click Check. A new window will pop up.

Then wai a few seconds and you will see the PR (popularity) of each one of the backlinks to your domain and see if they have strong (high PR) or weak (low PR).

It is a lot of work but good to identify when a domain that had a high PR and was deleted from the Google index - so losing its PR - may get a high PR back again as soon as it is registered and developed as before. You may find some gems doing that.
