domain suggestion sites

Are DN suggestion sites (like http://domain-suggestions.domaintools.com/) monitored in some way? i ask because i've noticed alot of half decent names i've searched for and not registered within a few hours suddenly registered for the first time. i've heard it happens to alot of other people aswell.

And while i'm on the subject of these sites, what ones would you recommend to use?

yes i wouldn't put it past them, i'm no expert but i've heard of the same thing happening with a few websites, don't use them, and if you do have the intent on registering them do it within 1 hour of looking the domain up

very smart idea to learn for your mistakes..I made the same kinda mistake, researching domain names while funds were being added to my Paypal and when I had funds available, I try to register them (I am talking about a day or two before Paypal funds) and when I did..90 % of them were recently registered..I even checked the whois and found majority by the same company...Anyway I now use overture for certain keywords and any with a reasonable seach engines queries, I then add www. to the keyword and see what happens..hopefully this little tips helps!

The best thing to do when you find a good domain name is to register it as fast as you can.

I have heard stories where people were playing around with something and within 5 to 10 minutes the domains have been taken by someone else.
